Advanced Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) - SS402
* For design engineers
Course description
The Advanced Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) course teaches advanced DFSS theory, methods and tools to those who are responsible for and involved in technically oriented design projects.
The Advanced DFSS course (SS402) is a follow-on to the DFSS course (SS302) and can be taken by anyone who has had the DFSS course as a prerequisite.
Advanced DFSS helps design engineers improve the quality of their designs for manufacturability, field reliability and business risk minimization.
Course outcomes
- Teaches how to conduct design-process qualifications and other methods for either minimizing or avoiding the negative effects of variation.
- Provides an engineering organization with the necessary skills for minimizing design error and its associated manifestation in poor quality.
- Avoids the detrimental effects of repeated value erosion from sub-optimized designs, and provides enormous benefit in the form of future cost-of-poor-quality avoidance.
