Online Learning
Savvi Learning is the online system that powers the Savvi Sigma curriculum. With the web browser and newsgroup reader that comes standard with every PC, students, instructors and mentors use the Savvi Learning Environment (SLE) to learn and demonstrate their learning.
The SLE leverages a rich format known as asynchronous learning groups, which contain dynamic multimedia content, to create an intimate and effective online learning experience.
The SLE offers a unique and universally applicable method of training that provides freedom for instructors and students to learn when and where it's most convenient - increasing retention, eliminating daily disruptions and dramatically easing the cost and effort of knowledge transfer.
If you already have a learning management system, Savvi can load six sigma content into it, so you can deploy and consume knowledge the way you normally do. Either way, the consistency of delivery will be unmatched, across cultural, geographical, functional, organizational and even company lines.

The Savvi Learning Environment
- The online Savvi Learning Environment (SLE) functions like a classroom - hosting the class and delivering the course lecture and exercise materials, while managing student-teacher and student-student interactions.
- Through the SLE, students engage in multimedia presentations and experience professional-quality graphics and illustrations. They also participate in personalized discussions with instructors, mentors and other students - and complete assignments, examinations and workplace projects.
- For 2004, the SLE is now available as an installed platform hosted and operated by your business or as a hosted platform operated and managed by Savvi. Also, we can provide a complete set of SCORM or AICC learning objects that can be imported to your existing LMS environment.
- Also new in 2004 - a set of courses that teach students, instructors, administrative staff and course developers how to fully utilize, apply and benefit from the Savvi Learning Environment.

- Modular instruction delivers learning the way it is needed, and asynchronous instruction delivers learning when it is needed.
- Savvi provides 24-7 hosting and support of the learning environment, whether you choose to have it installed as a self-hosted environment, or whether you want Savvi to host the environment for you.
Asynchronous learning - fast, efficient and convenient
Courses are delivered online and facilitated by an instructor who personally guides each student as they move through all required assignments over time.
Students are free to schedule their reading, discussions and exercise coursework at whatever time of the day that works best for them - in the early morning before work, during lunch, during approved work hours, after work, late at night or any mix of the above.
- Class work for a given day's cycle must be finished that day, keeping the students on track to complete the course. Instructors interact with individual students, and the class as a whole, on a daily basis to keep moving forward as a cohesive group.
- The amount of work assigned during each cycle is tailored to fit the curriculum design and audience of the course.
- Courses are typically constructed so they require one to two hours of work by the student each day.
The best possible online instruction
Each course consists of a standard set of learning groups that students and instructors access throughout the class. As in a conventional classroom environment, students are responsible for following the directions of the instructor and participating in the course activities.
Interactions with the instructor are more individualized and personable, resulting in a richer learning environment and deeper understanding on the part of the student.
During each cycle of the course, students follow the daily instructions posted by the instructor in the Classroom learning group. This includes engaging in reading assignments, multimedia presentations and dynamic simulations - as well as responding to discussion topics, posting results of assigned exercises and interacting with other students.
For team project assignments, students collaborate in the Project Teams learning group, and coordinate work to complete the final project result by the assigned due date. Each student works with the instructor to define workplace projects, then receive continual guidance to complete the project by the end of the course.
